Korean Eye: Energy and Matter Exhibition Opens in New York

November 1st marked the opening of the highly anticipated exhibition, Korean Eye: Energy and Matter at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in New York. On the morning of the 1st, guests of the media were invited to preview the exhibition over a delightful breakfast where each one received a copy of the book, "Korean Eye: Korean Contemporary Art".

In the evening a special reception was hosted by Standard Chartered and was attended by honorable guests including David and Serenella Ciclitira, Co-founders of Korean Eye, Dr. Lee Eun Jae, Korean Eye Goodwill Ambassador, Richard Hill, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered First Bank Korea, Dr. Han Seung Soo and Mark Minton, President of The Korea Society. Invited guests had the opportunity to view the artworks and even speak to some of the artists and curators who were there to mingle with the crowd. A magical performance by traditional Korean music artists rounded off a most memorable night of art and culture in the city.

The opening was attended by Congresswoman Na Kyung Won, Mr. Chung Byung Gug, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and many of those involved in putting the exhibition together including Nigel Hurst, curator and Chief Executive of Saatchi Gallery London, Tim Miller, Chairman of Standard Chartered First Bank Korea, Richard Hill, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered First Bank Korea, Dr. Lee Eun Jae, Korean Eye Goodwill Ambassador, and David and Serenella Ciclitira, Co-founders of Korean Eye. Official partners AMOREPACIFIC and Korean Air were also in attendance on the day to show their continued support. The exhibition received great interest from the media, increasing awareness of the Korean Eye initiative on both a local and international scale.
